Shortbread is Yummy!

Walker Shortbread Company is now an official Sponsor of the BCCD Cultural Heritage Gardens and the Scottish Garden! Their shortbread is a personal favorite. Yummy!

About the Boone County Conservation District Cultural Heritage Gardens

The Boone County Conservation District Cultural Heritage Gardens are located in Spencer Park in Belvidere, IL.

The Heritage Gardeners have researched and have planted heirloom varieties that would have been authentic for each ethnic group represented. German, Scottish, Norwegian, Yankee and Potawatomi Gardens are showcased. Only open pollinated heirloom varieties are planted.

The gardens are open for group tours and to the public during special programs throughout the year. Spencer Park is open year round to the public and has many walking paths.
